Crafting Tips: Making Your Own Stencils Cheap and Easy

Creating your own stencils doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. Remember those old overhead projector transparencies? We may not use them much anymore, but they still have their uses. Personally, I love repurposing these transparencies to make my own stencils. Plus, designing your own template saves you some cash!

The process is really simple! Here’s how you can do it:

1. Find a design and print it out, or draw your design on a piece of paper.

2. Place the transparency film over your design and trace it with a marker.

3. Carefully cut it out with a craft knife.

4. Once done, you can use masking tape to cover the edges to prevent accidental cuts (they can get quite sharp).

You can use these stencils on wood for furniture projects or on fabric for cushion covers, and more!

Clean them off and reuse them for your next project. No waste at all!
